Top upgrade deals in August 2022
We’ve scoured the UK market to bring you the best TalkTalk upgrade deals for existing customers this month.
Can I upgrade to TalkTalk fibre?
As long as TalkTalk fibre broadband is available in your local area, you can quickly and easily upgrade from standard / ADSL broadband over the phone.
Not sure what’s on offer where you are? Enter your postcode into our fibre-optic checker to find out what’s available where you live.
There are three different fibre options available:
- Fibre 35, with average download speeds of 38Mbps.
- Fibre 65, with average download speeds of 67Mbps.
- Fibre 150, with average download speeds of 145Mbps and the option of adding a ‘boost’ to take speeds up to 300Mbps.
All three fibre deals include unlimited downloads, allowing you to browse the internet, play games online, and stream as much content as you like without worrying about usage caps. It is worth noting that you won't find Fibre 150 deals listed on this page. At the time of writing availability is very limited and you will have to contat TalkTalk directly if you want to find out if you can get it.
TalkTalk’s HomeSafe network security package is included with all fibre deals, protecting your devices (including tables, laptops and phones) from viruses and malware and keeping kids safe online by blocking adult content.
You’ll also have a landline installed alongside your broadband, with free calls to other TalkTalk customers included as standard. You also have the option to upgrade to a call package that suits your individual needs. You can even add YouView TV to your bundle, with on-demand shows delivered online.
Special mention must be made that if you're planning to upgrade your package as an existing customer, you will be signing a new contract. As such you will be able to get the same introductory deals and offers that a new customer will. However, these new-customer offers are not available if you're planning to downgrade your speed.

What router will I get with my upgrade?
With Fibre 35 and 65, you will be sent the WiFi Hub Black that has been designed specifically for use with TalkTalk’s network. Simply plug in and switch on and you’re good to go.

If you upgrade to the Fibre 150 option, you’ll receive an upgraded router in the form of the Super Router, TalkTalk’s top of the range model. Operating on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies, the Super Router can support multiple, high-speed wireless connections and is optimised to work with TalkTalk’s YouView TV service.
What other upgrades are available?
Alongside upgrading your broadband deal from standard / ADSL to a fibre connection, you can also upgrade or add phone and TV provision to your deal.
Upgrading your phone package
To provide you with fibre broadband, TalkTalk must install a landline phone connection. The brand includes free calls to other TalkTalk customers with this, but you also have the option to upgrade to a tailored call package or add ‘boosts’ to suit your individual needs.
‘Boosts’ are extras, paid for on a month-by-month basis, that can be added or removed anytime. You can do this online in the ‘My Account’ section of the brand’s website, or by calling Customer Services.
Options to ‘boost’ your phone package include 24/7 inclusive calls to all numbers, calls to mobiles or international calls. Additional call features like call diverting, call waiting and three-way calling are also available.
Adding TV to your broadband package
TalkTalk TV includes 70 channels, your favourite players and apps (Netflix and iPlayer), 15 HD channels and over 30 radio stations. If you want to add something extra to your Freeview box, you can add TV Boosts based on specific entertainment offers.
Entertainment TV Boost
The very best drama, comedy and factual content including Sky One, Fox, National Geographic, History and many more.
Kids TV Boost
This boost offers some of the most popular UK kids’ channels like: Nick Jr, Boomerang and Disney Channel, to name a few.
TV Boosts are all available on rolling monthly subscriptions, giving you the flexibility to add and remove them from your main TV plan as and when you want.
Finally, your broadband speed needs to be at least 3Mbps to get YouView and at least 5Mbps. Happily, all of the brand’s fibre packages have speeds that far exceed these requirements.
There are some minimum requirements to qualify for a YouView box - you’ll need to connect to both a TV aerial (to receive Freeview channels like BBC, ITV and Channel 4) and an internet connection to access on demand services like iPlayer, All 4 and the premium subscription channels.
Adding Sky Sports to your broadband package
You can add Sky Sports to your current TalkTalk TV package over the phone or online.
Sky Sports channels on TalkTalk TV are streamed live over the internet to the YouView set-top box, so you’ll need a minimum broadband speed of 5Mbps to access them.
How do I upgrade with TalkTalk?
Take a look at the deals available at the top of the page. If you see anything that takes your fancy, simply get in touch with TalkTalk on the phone or visit the brand’s website to upgrade quickly and easily.
Will upgrading affect my contract?
When you upgrade your TalkTalk services, your old contract is withdrawn and replaced with a new one. For example, if you sign up for an 18-month broadband and phone package and decide to add TalkTalk TV six months later, the remaining 12 months of your current contract would be disregarded and you would begin a fresh 18-month contract for your new broadband, phone and TV bundle.
TalkTalk TV and phone boosts all operate on monthly subscriptions so will supplement your existing contract until you choose to remove them. If you need help understanding your contract, read our guide.
