If you’re looking for a superfast fibre broadband deal that won’t break the bank, TalkTalk is worth considering. Prices are some of the cheapest on the UK market, and the brand is committed to keeping packages simple, so you know exactly what you’re getting when you sign on the dotted line.
TalkTalk has many other selling points. Along with being a budget-friendly provider, the brand also includes unlimited downloads with all packages. It also throws in HomeSafe security software, blocking sites known to contain viruses and restricting access to adult material to keep youngsters safe online.
TalkTalk likes to keep it simple, and make it easy to include fibre broadband as part of a bundle with TV and phone. If you’re an existing TalkTalk customer, you can also easily upgrade your existing standard / ADSL or entry-level fibre broadband package to superfast fibre.
TalkTalk also regularly offers exclusive deals and special offers for new customers, so there’s always something extra to enjoy on top of the brand’s already reasonable rates and simple service.
As with any broadband provider, there are some downsides to signing up for a TalkTalk fibre broadband deal.
Crucially, TalkTalk fibre broadband is not yet available in all areas of the UK. Use our postcode checker to find out if you can get it where you live.
Installation for TalkTalk fibre broadband can be a little more complicated and costly than with other providers, as the connection is reliant on a TalkTalk phone connection. If your home doesn’t already have one of these, it will need to be installed by an engineer, which can be a hassle and incurs a fee.
TalkTalk also offers many of their deals with 18-month contracts, which can feel like a big commitment for many, and the brand scores worse on customer service than some of the UK’s other most popular providers.
As with any brand, whether or not TalkTalk is right for you depends on your personal needs and circumstances.

If you don’t have a suitable phone line installed at your home (TalkTalk requires this to be their own brand, rather than a BT line) an engineer will need to visit to install one. This is a quick and simple process, though it’s important to check with your landlord if you rent your property, to make sure it’s okay to go ahead with the work.
Installing a TalkTalk phone line, for any of the brand’s fibre broadband deals, comes with a one-off fee of £60.
Your TalkTalk router will arrive in time for your landline installation appointment, and your engineer will set this up to get you connected. If you’ve ordered TalkTalk TV as part of your package, this will be installed at a separate appointment.
If your property already has a TalkTalk line installed, it’s usually possible for you to self-install your router, with support from customer services, if required.
